Low Speed Vehicles
The City of Satellite Beach Council adopted Ordinance 1166, Chapter 34, Article 4, Sections 34-101 thru 34-110 authorizing and regulating the use of Low-Speed Vehicles (LSV) upon designated streets.
- If your LSV is registered with the State of Florida and displays a valid Florida license plate, you are not required to obtain a city decal.
- If your LSV has a state plate, you must obtain a beach parking pass separately, [ insert link for beach parking pass info here]. If you have a decal for your LSV, you do not need a beach parking pass.
- If your child(ren) needs restraint equipment in your normal vehicle, your child(ren) needs restraint equipment while riding in the LSV.
To register your (LSV) for use exclusively on streets within the City of Satellite Beach, please review the information provided below.
Eligibility for the LSV decal program is limited to residents of the City of Satellite Beach. Please refer to the map below to confirm that your address falls within the city limits.
If your address does not fall within the city limits, the only option to register your LSV is through the State of Florida and receive a state plate.

Proof of valid LSV insurance with Personal Injury Protection and Property Liability insurance (FSS 320.02(5)(a) is required before scheduling an appointment. Your declarations page must show Personal Injury Protection and Property Liability coverage.
If your current insurance company does not provide the required insurance, you will have to contact other insurance companies. We cannot provide insurance companies for liability purposes.
Review the LSV Requirement Checklist: The LSV must meet all requirements listed to pass inspection.
LSV decals issued by the city shall be valid for ONE YEAR from the date of issuance, must be RENEWED ONLINE ANNUALLY and it is the owner’s responsibility to maintain. Per city ordinance, any person operating an LSV without proper registration or expired decal shall be fined $50.00 for the first violation, $100.00 for the second violation and $150.00 for the third and each subsequent violation.
